YOUNG LADIES' SOCIETY.
The Mreonian Society, organized by the Young Ladies of
the Institution, has for its object, improvement in composition, instrumental and vocal music, and the fine arts. The
exercises of this society are conducted with decorum and
dignity.
MERIT ROLL.
A record will be kept by the Faculty of the attendance,
grade of scholarship, and deportment of all the students of
the University. Parents and Guardians will he notified of
the standing of their respective sons and daughters, or wards.

DISCIPLINE.
The discipline will be strict, but moral and parental. Students will be permitted to pursue either a regular or irregular course of study. On their entrance they will be classed
by the Faculty according to their grade of advancement.
Students must avoid all immoral conduct.
Expulsion is the only penalty for drunkenness. No gambling
apparatus of any kind, or deadly weapon will be permitted.
Young Ladies and Gentlemen must not allow anything to
interfere with their legitimate duties as Students.
UNIFORM IN FEMALE DEPARTMENT.
The following will be rigidly enforced :
Leather shoes from first of November until the last of
April.
FOr winter—Dresses for every day, worsted goods, (solid

LOCATION.
It is thought that no more desirable location could have
been selected than Tehuacana. It is proverbial for its healthfulness, supplied with an abundance of living water, surrounded with a beautifully romantic scenery and fertile
country, capable of sustaining a dense population, Central,
and easy of access, being within four miles of the line of the
Central Railroad. The town is free from temptations to
vice.

CABINET.

The Mineralogical and Geological Cabinet contains a large
collection of Minerals and Fossils for the illustration of the
branches to which they properly belong.
A handsome Philosophical and Chemical Apparatus, ample
for the illustration of the Natural Sciences, belongs to the
Institution, also a magnificent Telescope, one of the finest in
the South.
SCHOLARSHIPS.
The Board of Trustees have authorized their agent to sell
two classes of scholarships—limited and perpetual.
The limited scholarship entitles the holder to tuition in
the Literary Department for five years ; and the perpetual
for all time to come, free of tuition fees.
By resolution of the Board, no holder of a scholarship can
derive any benefit from the same without the payment or
interest or principal is made.
