1998: Investment Class Handles Trinity Money

Subject

1998: Investment Class Handles Trinity Money

Description

Students David McKeon, Grant Johnsey, and Chris Watts introduced a program, along with the help of professor Philip Cooley, in which students can invest a portion of Trinity's endowment for the purpose of gaining a return on their investment. The students have a starting sum of $500,000 at their disposal. Today (2019) that sum is closer to $6,000,000. While students have succeeded in their goal to beat the market and earn a return on investment, the goal of the program is to give students practical experience handling and investing money.
